PRESIDENT - GEORGE VERGE
I joined Branch 76 in 1973, shorty after our current building was erected. I have served on many executive commitiees throughout the years and have been 1st and 2nd Vice President as well as President in 1989-1990. As well, I have experience in the executive at both the district and zone levels. I was proud to help with the building of the cenotaph that is used in the community arena for remembrance day ceremonies. As a life member the Royal Canadian Legion and past president of this branch, I have been in a consulting role and work hard for the well-being of this branch. My dream is to see a new Legion building in the coming years, something I will work hard with my counterparts to achieve.
1st VICE PRESIDENT - BOB CULLENS
I have been a member of Branch 76 since 2019 and I am constantly reminded that we have some truly wonderful comrades at the Branch. I am looking forward to the new challenges that we are going to be dealing with in the upcoming year. While I have a rather full portfolio, I am anxiuos to get on with the work ahead. Our Branch Regulations, Club House Rules, and a new Policies & Procdures Manual need to be reviewed and forwarded to Command for approval. As Chair of the Property Redevelopment Committee, I am greatful to have a wonderful team to work with and am looking forward to what the future holds for our branch building.
2nd VICE PRESIDENT - DON DEMPSEY
I have been a Legion members for the past 50 years and have been an Executive Member at Branch 76 and another Branch for 20 years. I am looking forward to working with the Bar Chair to keep our Bar running smoothly. As Chair of the 100th Anniversary Committee I am looking forward to all of the events that will lead us us to our 1ooth Anniversary on December 2nd.
IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT - SYLVIA PREVOST
I have been a member of this branch for 16 years and have been a part of the executive membership for 15 years. I have held many positions within the branch and Ladies Auxiliary and most recently have been President of the branch for the past 3 years. This year, I will be serving as membership chair and immediate past president. I look forward to working with my counterparts to ensure the branch continues to thrive! Membership is continuing to rise to pre-covid levels and I am excited to see them continue to climb.
SECRETARY- ADRIENNE LEMIEUX
I am a 19 year Legionairre currently serving as the Branch and Poppy Treasurer. I have served in various executive roles since 2011. I have had roles including branch hall rentals, catering, lottery & bar, branch secretary, constitution & laws and honours & awards. I look forward to working with my fellow executive members to make it a great year at this branch!
POPPY CHAIR - JUDITH (JUDY) ROBITAILLE
I have been an active member of Branch 76 and at the Zone Level for a total of 15 years. I have chaired as 1st and 2nd Vice President, Interim President, Youth & Education, Secretary, and Bursaries. I am always willing to help with the Branch's important ceremonies and events. This year, I will be taking on the role as Poppy Campaign Chair. I hope to see all Legionnaires and non-members support the campaign and help if they are able. Veterans need our support more than ever, especially with the rising costs of medical and everyday nesseccities. Please reach out to the Legion if you would like to help with the poppy campaign.
TREASURER - DAVE CARNES
HOUSE & PROPERTY/CADET LIASON - CHRISTOPHER CAWTE
I have been a member of this branch for one and a half years and have been greatly involved since. I proudly come from a family with a long line of veterans with Great Grandfather served 25 years with the Royal Navy (UK) and my Father serving 3 years with the Royal Air Force, Bomber Command. I am currently Chair of the House and Property Committee and the Cadet Liaison Officer. I am eager to continue to work with future legionnaires and ensure the quality of the legion building and its beautiful outdoor space. My passion is participating in Remembrance Ceremonies and marching in Parades as a part of the Colour Party.
Music/Entertainment - WANDA & CHARLIE MALLETTE
We have been members of this branch for 6 years and have been executive committee members for 3 years. We very much enjoy our involvement in the entertainment and music events at Branch 76. We are in charge of putting together Tuesday and Thursday afternoon dances, karaoke events, holiday dances and special events. We are excited to see that the events at the branch are growing in numbers, especially the new karaoke events that began this year. We cant wait for the next year of music and fun at Branch 76!
BRANCH SERVICE OFFICER - RICHARD (DICK) PERRAS
I have been a Legionnaire for over 25 years and a part of the executive for 3 years. As Branch Service Officer, I communicate directly with veterans in our area who may need support. I look forward to working with other members and veterans to ensure they are taken care of and given the help they need. Veterans are encouraged to contact the legion if they need us.
LOTERY/SENIORS - GEORGE MIDDLETON
I joined the military as part of the Royal Canadian Signals and was posted in Kingston, Ontario. I retired from Vale after over 30 years with the company. I plan on using my experiences in various community groups to help this branch succeed. I look forward to working with other executive members to ensure the seniors of our branch are taken care of and treated with the respect they deserve!
